You could argue that this is the best Pixar sequel ever. I encourage you to do so in the comments. But for now, Toy Story 3 will forever hold my heart.
At only a run time of only 90 minutes 1 hour and 30 minutes flew by! There was a story, a flow, a hand-holding and tissues on standby kind of movie. Toy Story 4 is the like the ending of a good book. More importantly, Toy Story 4 is the relationship closure ending that we need to move from infinity to beyond. Bring all of the tissues. Tom Hanks Woody as Woody voice. Tony Hale Forky as Forky voice. Keegan-Michael Key Ducky as Ducky voice. Madeleine McGraw Bonnie as Bonnie voice. Jordan Peele Bunny as Bunny voice. Joan Cusack Jessie as Jessie voice. Nothing offensive in the movie. A few mildly creepy characters that threaten Woody. Our 7 and 11 year old boys liked it I can't say loved it. I hope every one will support this good movie, because there are so few decent G-rated movies released these days that we have to encourage the making of more.
Had useful details 2. Read my mind 3. Adult Written by Sheesh June 21, Not as good as other Toy Story movies but my kids loved it First, my kids ages 8, 6, 5, and 3 loved this.
I wouldn't have taken the 3 year old because he did obviously get side-tracked and can't really sit through a feature-length movie. This is the first movie we have gone to in a theater as a family. Why it isn't a 4 or 5 - The plot wasn't super great. I missed the comedy of the other characters and their relationships. I DID really like that Bo was often the savvy heroine and didn't fall into the "oh save me" stereotype.
I could have done without the air of romance there was no kissing but a lot of "will they? What may be scary - The dummies were for sure creepy and the evil doll girl does become redeemed but she is selfish and manipulative for the vast majority of the movie and convinces Woody to permanently injure himself to help her.
Several chase scenes as well. Unexpected trigger: A doll keeps suggesting they do something so the dad will end up in jail as a way to stall him. This is all fine and silly So, just a head's up. They repeat this times. Adult Written by Fahy87 July 26, We almost missed out on our new fav. The company has amazing and nonbias reviews. Sometimes I read some of the parents or kids reviews to see if they agree.
I was so disapointed in the reviews that Toy Story 4 was recieving. My husband and I thought maybe we should skip this one. Our kids are 6,5,3,1. Have not stopped talking about it. Yes, the puppets are creepy but their expression never changes nor do they say anything. It was more being surprise, then getting scared by them. Yes, the scene in the credits was a little much but you already know that the two characters come up with crazy plans.
I was really disapointed in the reviews by other parents. This was far less scary then the one before TS3. There was suspense, a few things that startle you but overall I think the review given by CommonSense was spot on. My 3 covered her ears during the thunderstorm in the opening scene.
But every other "scary" scene parents mentioned, my kids laughed at. This was a fantastic family movie! If I could give it more than 5 stars, I totally would. We will be adding this to our collection!
Adult Written by Orthochik June 24, Toys abandoned their purpose in this one Although Toy Story 4 has incredible and stunning visuals, I was ultimately let down by the story and especially the ending. I wanted to like it because I truly love the Toy Story franchise. Here are the reasons it disappointed me: 1. Their characters have been developed from previous movies. In this one, they are shoved to the periphery—especially Buzz Lightyear! Which brings me to the major problem I have with this movie.
This storyline turns that premise on its head and ends with Woody abandoning his friends and setting out on a life of his own with Bo at his side , because he has now evolved past his original created purpose and embarks on a life pursuing happiness on his own. Pretty clever, eh? I watched this movie with the idea of taking my grandchildren, ages 4 and 6, to it later.
I think the 4-year old would have been frightened by the antique store dummies. I kept wanting her to get off-screen so I could see more of Woody and Buzz. Bottom line: Entertaining, but not moving because the writers lost the emotional core.
Adult Written by fredshure June 21, I really loved this movie, and a biracial family? Read my mind 1. Adult Written by mcmovies June 21, Creepy, Not Scary While the scenes with the dummies are certainly creepy, I would be hard-pressed to say they are scary.
I realize everyone's kids are different, but I was in a group with my 6 year old and a friend's 5 year old and neither was scared. Parent of a 4-year-old Written by ehallme June 20, It was a very slow movie and had nothing to do with the others.
It could have been a great movie if the third one had ended differently but ofcours this is my own opinion the right opinion. A toy horse shivers in fright at a thunder and lightning storm. A young girl cries at home and at her Kindergarten orientation. A man shouts a few times and later he grumbles nonsense noises and his wife tells their young daughter that the man is saying bad words.
A spork fashioned into a toy with pipe cleaner arms becomes upset that he is not a real toy and keeps jumping into a trash can, but a doll in the can tosses him up onto a bed dozens of times. A doll walks away from another doll and they both look sad; the first doll decides to stay and his friends say goodbye with some tears.
Several toy characters talk about belonging to children and missing them when the kids outgrew them. A toy shakes a large dust ball off his hand. A man at a carnival has a large blob of what looks like mud and dried blood on his leg and his beard is scraggly and his clothes are dirty. A glass of wine is seen on the edge of a bathtub.
